Back from the weekly market 3 - Zurück vom Wochenmarkt 3

It was difficult to put these three together in a suitable composition. I took a lot of photos in advance, but eventually I painted them originally sitting on the floor in front of balcony door. With these series I found out how important shadow is for still lives... and how difficult to paint something that stands very close to you.

Es war schwierig, diese Drei zusammen zu einer passenden Komposition zusammenzustellen. Ich habe viele Fotos im Voraus gemacht, aber am Ende habe ich es doch im Original vor der Balkontür auf dem Boden sitzend gemalt. Bei dieser Serie habe ich festgestellt, wie wichtig Schatten in Stillleben ist... und wie übel es ist etwas zu malen, das dicht bei einem steht.

And here again the kohlrabi. I just changed the background and the shadow a bit.

Und noch noch einmal der Kohlrabi. Ich habe nur den Hintergrund und den Schatten ein wenig verändert.

    What is interesting is that the back ground is painted vertically with your brush strokes, this gives the impression that the veggies are hanging on a wall. If you had painted the back ground horizontally then the look of the painting would have been different. Try it next time. I can see you are looking for interesting angles and effects. Great colours.
