The less it's on the canvas the harder it is to paint. The graduations in the evening or the early morning are difficult to see and to paint. However, we all like those skies, don't we?

Je weniger auf der Leinwand ist, desto schwieriger ist es sie zu bemalen. Die Farbskalen des Abends und des frühen Morgens sind schwierig zu sehen und zu malen. Jedoch mögen wir diese Himmel sehr, nicht wahr?

Here's the second cloudy sky. I saw this on Fanoe, the Danish island, in the late afternoon. This is one of the paintings I couldn't find the end: Here a bit lighter, there darker and the colours on the beach were difficult to see. Have a look yourself during your next walk on a wet beach.

Hier ist der zweite wolkige Himmel. Ich sah diesen auf Fanoe, der dänischen Insel, am späten Nachmittag. Dies ist eines der Bilder, bei dem ich kein Ende finden konnte: Hier ein bisschen heller, dort dunkler, und die Farben des Strandes waren schwierig zu erkennen. Schaut doch selbst einmal während des nächsten Spaziergangs an einem nassen Strand.

A new assignment - a new challenge. Now it's about clouds in the sky, how they look, what colours they have at what daytime and their ways. This is my first sketch of six.

Eine neue Aufgabe - eine neue Herausforderung. Jetzt geht es um Wolken im Himmel, wie sie aussehen, welche Farben sie haben zu welcher Tageszeit und ihre Wege. Dies ist die erste von sechs Skizzen.

Where does the light come from 6 - Wo kommt das Licht her 6

This is the last of the 6 sky sketches. I went to the nearest place where I could see the horizon to get all colours of the sky. Unhappily it was still misty in "Blockland" despite it was afternoon.

Dies ist das letzte der 6 Himmelsskizzen. Ich fuhr zum nahesten Ort, an dem ich den Horizont sehen konnte, um alle Farben des Himmels einzufangen. Leider war es immer noch diesig im Blockland trotz des Nachmittags.

Here's No. 5 of the skies. Ok, there's not a lot sky O;-) I started this working from memory and ended up looking for a photo because I found it very difficult because of the crowds of different colours and contrasts.

Dies ist die Nummer 5 der Himmel. Gut, es ist nicht viel Himmel O;-) Ich begann diesen aus der Erinnerung zu malen und endete mit der Suche nach einem Foto, weil ich es so schwierig fand wegen der viele verschiedenen Farben und Kontraste.

Here's the fourth sky. It's based on a photo I took at St. Peter Ording/Northsea in the morning just as the sun has made the fog vanish.

Hier ist der vierte Himmel. Er basiert auf einem Foto von St. Peter Ording/Nordsee, das ich am Morgen aufgenommen habe, gerade als die Sonne den Nebel verscheucht hatte.
