Together in the Backyard - Zusammen auf dem Hinterhof

Sometimes I find acrylics easier. To work with water is very useful. On last week's sunny Saturday I saw these two bikes standing in a backyard just at the moment a man wanted to close the gate. He seemed not sure what I could find in that view, but said, he had always wanted to have his bike on a photo. Then he went off.

Manchmal finde ich Acryl einfacher. Mit Wasser zu arbeiten ist sehr hilfreich. Am letzten sonnigen Samstag sah ich diese beiden Fahrräder in einer Hinterhof, gerade in dem Moment als ein Mann das Tor schließen wollte. Er war sich anscheinend nicht sicher, was ich an diesem Anblick fand, sagte aber, er habe schon immer sein Rad auf einen Foto haben wollen. Danach ging er.

Not my day today - Heute ist nicht mein Tag

It has been a brilliant day today. The weather was fine. I had wonderful students in my studio today, but I myself didn't feel about my painting like that. First, I washed off a whole canvas and was miserable. Then I discovered this poor overlooked pot. Indeed, it wasn't its day, too.

Es war ein brillianter Tag heute. Das Wetter war toll. Ich hatte heute wunderbare Schüler im Studio, aber ich fand mein Malerei heute gar nicht wunderbar. Erst eimal habe ich eine ganze Leinwand wieder abgewaschen und war unglücklich. Dann entdeckte ich den armen unbeachteten Topf. In der Tat, heute war auch nicht sein Tag.

Look out - Ausguck

I found this a bit dull looking pot in Camden Market, London and took it home as a souvenir without knowing what to do with it. It's a good thing to practise painting O:-)

Ich fand diesen etwas merkwürdig ausschauenden Pott im Camden Market, London und nahm ihn mit nach Hause als Souvenir ohne zu wissen, was man damit machen könnte. Es ist eine gute Sache, damit das Malen zu üben. O:-)

Besides, I've changed something about the tricycle.

Außerdem habe ich etwas am Dreirad geändert.

Left behind - Zurückgelassen

I saw this left tricycle in the backyard near the studio. It's not a nice backyard, but two little girls sometimes play there - however, not today. For getting some sunlight I had to wait. In the meantime I went to my art suppliers and bought some new panels. (Who has an idea where to find a big choice for panels?) In the end I got the sun O:-)

Ich sah dieses verlassene Dreirad im Hinterhof in der Nähe des Ateliers. Es ist kein schöner Hinterhof, aber zwei kleine Mädchen spielen dort manchmal - aber nicht heute. Um ein wenig Sonnenlicht ins Bild zu bekommen, musste ich warten. In der Zwischenzeit bin ich zu meinem Künstlerbedarf-Händler gelaufen, um neue Panele zu kaufen. (Hat jemand eine Idee, wo ich eine große Auswahl von Panelen finden könnte?) Am Ende bekam ich die Sonne. O:-)

First!

The first open apple blossom I found on our small russet tree watching out of our bathroom. I love this sour but aromatic taste of the apples, however, the tree was not healthy during the last years because of blood lice. Perhaps we're luckier this year.

Die erste offene Apfelblüte unseres Boskopbaumes fand ich, als ich ihn vom Badezimmer aus betrachtete. Ich mag diese sauren, aber aromatischen Äpfel, jedoch war der Baum während der letzten beiden Jahre nicht gesund auf Grund von Blutläusen. Vielleicht haben wir dieses Jahr mehr Glück.

Wie macht man Weiß leuchtend und Glas sichtbar? Man nehme einen schwarzen Hintergrund und lege die Motive davor O;-)
