Caroline's Apple - Carolines Apfel

I'm always happy when I get a photo of the arrived painting at its new home. Here Caroline founds the light to weak so that Pooh and bunny Bruce had to join the small apple painting to the window.

Ich bin immer froh, wenn ich ein Foto von einem angekommenden Gemälde in seinem neuen Heim bekomme. Hier fand Caroline das Licht zu schwach, so dass Pooh und Kaninchen Bruce den kleinen Apfel zum Fenster begleitet haben.

Wild Apples - Wilde Äpfel

Perhaps you think you've seen this already... half finished ... on the easel in Normandy. Yes, indeed. I've had a second look on it and done the sides on the stretched canvas. Now it's finished and has to dry for a bit.

Vielleicht denkt ihr, ihr hättet dies schon gesehen ... halbfertig... auf der Staffelei in der Normandie. Ja, tatsächlich. Ich habe einen zweiten Blick darauf geworfen und die Seiten der Leinwand gemacht. Nun ist es fertig und muss für ein Weilchen trocknen.

Toffee Apple - Liebesapfel

This beauty hasn't had a long life - not because I couldn't resist and eat it, no, but I wanted to cover it till the next session. I was happy to find a good thing, however, when lifted it again, all the sugar has spread over the piece of cardboard under it. Poor apple!

Diese Schönheit hatte leider kein langes Leben, nicht weil ich ihm nicht widerstehen konnte, nein, allerdings wollte ich ihn verhüllen bis zu nächsten Malsession. Ich war glücklich, dass ich eine gute Hülle gefunden hatte, jedoch - als ich sie wieder lüftete, hatte sich der ganze Zucker auf dem Stück Pappe darunter verteilt. Armer Apfel!

Toffee Apple - Liebesapfel (in Progress)

I've learnt that the in Germany called "love apple" have the ordinary name "toffee apple" in English and because it's Bremen Freimarkt at the moment, it's the best season to buy at least one of these sweet sins...
Here you see the first strokes of it on my handmade panel and the original toffee apple in the background.

Ich habe gelernt, dass der in Deutschland sogenannte Liebesapfel auf Englisch den langweiligen Namen Toffee-Apfel hat und weil gerade Freimarkt in Bremen ist, ist dies die beste Zeit, um mindestens eine dieser süßen Sünden zu kaufen...
Hier sieht man die ersten Pinselstriche von ihm auf einem meiner handgemachten Paneele und den originalen Liebesapfel im Hintergrund.

First Russet from the garden - Erster Boskop aus dem Garten

I proudly present the first ripe apple from the only tree in our tiny garden. O:-) Isn't it a beauty? Beautiful by nature.

Stolz präsentiere ich den ersten reifen Apfel vom einzigen Baum in unserem winzigen Garten. O:-) Ist er nicht schön? Schön von Natur aus.

This apple has just fallen from our tree in the garden. It's a very big red russet and there are many more of them still hanging in the tree. The apple harvest must be very good this year.

Dieser Apfel ist gerade von unserem Baum im Garten gefallen. Er ist ein großer roter Boskop and und dort hängen noch viel mehr von ihnen im Baum. Die Apfelernte muss dieses Jahr sehr gut sein.

An Apple a Day... - Einen Apfel am Tag...

... keeps the doctor away. Hopefully, this proverb is right. However, sunny weather lightens the mood anyway, doesn't it?

... und man bleibt gesund. (Dieses Sprichwort klingt auf Englisch einfach besser.) Hoffentlich stimmt es. Das sonnige Wetter hebt die Stimmung sowieso, stimmt's?

First!

The first open apple blossom I found on our small russet tree watching out of our bathroom. I love this sour but aromatic taste of the apples, however, the tree was not healthy during the last years because of blood lice. Perhaps we're luckier this year.

Die erste offene Apfelblüte unseres Boskopbaumes fand ich, als ich ihn vom Badezimmer aus betrachtete. Ich mag diese sauren, aber aromatischen Äpfel, jedoch war der Baum während der letzten beiden Jahre nicht gesund auf Grund von Blutläusen. Vielleicht haben wir dieses Jahr mehr Glück.
