Stretched and Transparent - Gespannt und Transparent

You won't believe it, but this canvas is stretched so solid like a drum. You can even use it as a drum. - Ok, I don't do it. O:-) The canvas is transparently prepared so that it looks as if you put the paint on the natural canvas.

Ihr werdet es nicht glauben, aber diese Leinwand ist so stark gespannt wie eine Trommel. Man könnte es sogar als eine solche benutzen. - Ok, das tue ich nicht. Die Leinwand ist transparent vorbereitet, so dass es ausschaut, als ob man die Farbe direkt auf das Leinen aufträgt.

Having a long Look 2 - Langes Betrachten 2

I'm not sure if they really had a long look at the foot by Adolf Menzel(1815-1905), but I saw them first looking (he smiled) and then discussing about the 60 years olf foot of the artist. Seeing it myself, it has become one of my favourite paintings. O:-)

Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob sie wirklich einen langen Blick auf Adolf Menzels Fuß (1815-1905) gewagt haben, aber ich sah beide erst schauen (er lächelte) und dann über den 60jährigen Fuß des Künstlers diskutieren. Als ich ihn selbst betrachtete, wurde er einer meiner Lieblingsbilder. O:-)

Toffee Apple - Liebesapfel

This beauty hasn't had a long life - not because I couldn't resist and eat it, no, but I wanted to cover it till the next session. I was happy to find a good thing, however, when lifted it again, all the sugar has spread over the piece of cardboard under it. Poor apple!

Diese Schönheit hatte leider kein langes Leben, nicht weil ich ihm nicht widerstehen konnte, nein, allerdings wollte ich ihn verhüllen bis zu nächsten Malsession. Ich war glücklich, dass ich eine gute Hülle gefunden hatte, jedoch - als ich sie wieder lüftete, hatte sich der ganze Zucker auf dem Stück Pappe darunter verteilt. Armer Apfel!

Handmade Panels 4 - Handgemachte Paneele 4

As you remember I make my supports myself. Now I'd like to show you how I put and fix the canvas on the panel.

Wie ihr euch erinnert mache ich meine Malgründe selbst. Nun möchte ich euch zeigen, wie ich die Leinwand auf das Paneel bringe.

I need the panels, wood glue, a spatula and canvas.

Ich brauche die Paneele, Holzleim, einen Spachtel und Leinwand.

As you see I use canvas that is already gessoed, but you can do it yourself after finishing the panels.

Wie man sieht nehme ich Leinwand, die bereits behandelt ist, aber man es auch selbst machen, wenn die Paneele fertig sind.

Then you have to spread well the glue on the panel.

Anschließend muss man den Leim gut auf dem Paneel verteilen.

Don't wait, but just turn the panel and press it on the back of the canvas. If there's too much glue, try to get rid of it so that it's easier to go on later.

Warte nicht, sondern drehe das Paneel um und presse es auf die Rückseite der Leinwand. Wenn Leim an den Seiten herausquillt, versuche ihn abzuwischen, damit es später leichter weitergehen kann.

Now put some weight on the panels and leave them alone for a day and a night.

Nun beschwere die geleimten Paneele und lass sie einen Tag und eine Nacht lang ruhen.

Two Peaches - Zwei Pfirsiche

I must admit I bought these two treasures at the weekly market just to get them painted. So, I carried them to the studio today, painted them and carried them back... That means, now the way is free... O;-)

Ich muss gestehen, dass ich diese beiden Schätze auf dem Wochenmarkt nur gekauft habe, um sie zu malen. Also trug ich sie heute zum Atelier, malte sie und trug sie zurück... Das heißt, nun ist der Weg frei... O:-)
